"Every child is born a naturalist. His eyes, are by nature, open to the glories of the star, the beauty of the flowers, and the mystery of the world"

At Greengables, we aim for children to be connected with and contribute to their world, both spiritually and environmentally. Our Service is passionate about Sustainability. We believe in supporting children to appreciate and care for the environment by embedding sustainable practice into the daily operation of our Service, infrastructure and teaching

By being environmentally aware and becoming more socially responsible for the environment, children are able to show greater respect for the environment.

In order to empower our Sustainability program we emphasise children’s ability to make a difference, enabling them to learn and appreciate their environment in an engaging, fun and exciting manner. We do this by engaging children in discussion about sustainable practice, encouraging them to participate in a recycling program, gardening, reducing energy, conserving water and packing away the environments helping them to learn to respect living and non living things.

This enables children to gain a greater understanding of the importance of the environment and the interdependence of living things.

The Greengables children enjoy looking after their three Guinea Pigs, Rainbow, Lollypop and Spike as well as their goldfish Alfie.

We have an Adopt a Pet program where families volunteer to look after out pets on the weekend creating a connection between home and kindy.

We aim to provide children with the skills and knowledge required to become environmentally responsible.
